In a bid to reposition and enhance professional administrative running of the Institution, the Office of the Registrar has organised robust induction workshops for newly appointed Administrative Officers.

The marathon sessions, attended by well over 15 participants per session, was facilitated by the Human Resources Unit, headed by the Deputy Registrar, Dr Olusegun Akinyemi.

The exhaustive sessions, held inside the university’s Senate Chambers, spanning well over seven hours each, were also attended by other Administrative Staff, Secretaries and some unit heads.

Dr. Akinyemi, who anchored the programme said among other things, that the participants would be equipped with a near perfect understanding of how a 21st century University is run administratively.

“Among other things, each officer would be trained on clarifications on Minutes taking and Committee Servicing, using Roberts Rules of Order. They will also be taught how abbreviations are used in Administrative Minuting” he said.

With the approval of more courses by the National Universities Commission, the Institution would need the services of more capable hands to carry out the day-to-day operations.

Speaking further, the DR retorted, “Report Writing and Stylistics are key for effective functionality of a University and the interpretation of University Rules and Regulations cannot be possible if there are half baked Administrative Staff in such a system. So McU is poised to churn out the best of administrators, going forward” he concluded.
