Academic Planning Unit

The idea of establishing Academic Planning Units or Directorates in Nigerian universities was championed by the National Universities Commission as far back as the 1980s and virtually all Nigerian universities, public and private, have bought into the idea.  The Directorate is charged with the responsibility of orderly coordination and guidance of the academic programmes of the University in line with the NUC’s Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS) and Senate stipulated academic requirements.  It also has responsibility for the collection and collation of academic statistics in the the University.

McPherson University Academic Planning Directorate was established in 2012 with Dr. Olusegun Atanda (as then known, but now Professor) as the foundation Ag. Director and the Directorate has since been very active in the academic planning processes of the the University.  The Ag. Director is assisted by an Executive Officer in the running of the office.

Academic Structure of the University
