

The College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS) started academic activities on Monday, 22nd October, 2012 with Prof. Olusegun Atanda as the pioneer Dean with 16 students. The College is made up of 3 Departments, namely; Biological Sciences, Physical and Computer Sciences and Chemical Sciences; with 8 approved NUC programmes and well equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology Laboratories. These programmes are currently run on a (full time) basis with qualified workforce of academic and non-academic staff.
The College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS) offers courses leading to honours degrees of Bachelors of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Biotechnology and Chemistry.

The College graduated its pioneer set of students in the 2015/2016 Academic Session. The College members have been engaging in various research activities since inception. Several publications have been published by members of academic staff in various high impact journals both nationally and internationally.

ABOUT THE DEAN

Dr. Michael B. Osho is an Associate Professor of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology in the Department of Biological Sciences, College of Natural & Applied Sciences (COLNAS), McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc.) Biological Sciences (Microbiology Option) 1995; M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Food & Industrial Microbiology in 2003 and 2013 from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, (Formerly University of Agriculture, Abeokuta) Nigeria respectively.
He has served as the Sub Dean of the College for two sessions and Ag. Head of the Biological Sciences at various times since he joined the service of McPherson University in 2012.
Dr. Osho who is a member of McPherson University Senate won STEP B Research Grant of the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, during his doctorate programme in 2010.
He is a member of many academic and professional bodies and he is well published in many national and international journals of high repute. His academic prowess affords him opportunities to serve as member of Editorial Board and reviewer of some publication outlets such as Insight in Enzyme Research, Nigerian Journal of Biotechnology, Journal of Basic Microbiology, among others.
ABOUT THE SUB-DEAN

Dr. Akinola Kayode Emmanuel, an erudite scholar and a Computer Scientist, is the Sub Dean, College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS), McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo.
The renowned scholar holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun State and a Master of Science degree in Information Technology Science from National Open University of Nigeria. He also crowned his academic pursuits with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Babcock University in Ogun State.
Dr. Akinola Kayode started his career with the teaching of Computer Science at Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic an Ogun State own Tertiary Institution where he is well cited and conspicuously active as a renowned researcher. He has held many responsibilities, among which are Acting Head of Department, Physical and Computing Sciences.
He is currently the Sub Dean, College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS). The Sub Dean possesses many publications and is well cited in reputable journals. He holds the membership of the following professional bodies among others: American Association for Science and Technology (AASCIT) USA; Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) USA; Nigerian Computer Society, Nigeria; Federal Road Service Corp – Special Marshal, Nigeria.
Dr. Akinola Kayode has supervised numerous undergraduates and postgraduate students and conducted many research activities. The renown International Research Journal reviewer has reviewed Journal for Routledge (Tailors & Francis Group) and Asian Journal of Research in Computer Science. His latest research work being “Multi-Factor Authentication Based Automated Teller Machine Model”. This notable academic is happily married with children.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE OFFICER

Mrs. Omowumi Oluseun Fagbohun is the College Officer of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS), McPherson University. She holds a M.Sc. in Educational Evaluation from the premier University of Ibadan and a degree in Business Administration from the Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, also a professional certificate in Data Processing from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB), now the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Prior to her studies at the three aforementioned institutions, she studied at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, where she earned a National Diploma. Mrs. Fagbohun has garnered ample administrative experiences from the private and public sectors before joining McPherson University in 2012.
At some point, she served as College Officer, College of Humanities, Social and Management Sciences (COHSMAS) and College of Humanities (COLHUM), respectively. Before her recent posting, Mrs. Fagbohun worked in the Human Resources Unit of the Registry Department.
