McU Meets With UI VC
The University of Ibadan ,McU’s Mentor University, flung wide its gates to receive yet another of its mentees recently , when the management team of McU paid a courtesy call on U.I’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Folorunsho Adewole and his management team .
Receiving McU’s Vice Chancellor , Professor Adeniyi Agunbiade and his team in the ancient city of Ibadan, Professor Adewole said the premier University in the country had mentored not less than fourty Universities .He said that University of Ibadan was our University any day that McU was always welcome, as they were ready to discuss challenges and share experiences .
He said U.I was also ready to partner with McU as soon as a Memorandum of Understanding was signed .That way, joint proposals could be written and research load could be shared. Professor Adewole suggested the establishment of a Directorate for Quality Assurance in the office of the vice Chancellor, such that Deans could access their staff and students could share the task of accessing staff as well. In addition, he advised that career Development Units be established , to help students identify their careers from the outset.
Talking about the green Concept, Professor Adewole suggested that Air flow, Energy Flow and water flow be maximized. Energy savings bulbs could be used from the outset, for instance. On no account should student cook in their rooms in the halls of residence and members of Staff should be charged economic rent for their apartment as nothing was free .
In his response, an elated Professor Agunbiade gave an update about the University’s milestones till date, and stated wisth appreciation, that McU was willing to partner with the University of Ibadan and that all the suggestions and advice given had been taken note of . He added that McU was looking forward to the visit promised by its Mentor . Thereafter , both Management teams held brief informal meetings and the University was expecially happy that the U.I Registrar , Olujimi Olukoya , is a Foursquarian .
